ঢাকায় জামায়াতে ইসলামীর মহাসমাবেশ: ঐতিহাসিক জনসমাগম ১৯ জুলাই

বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর উদ্যোগে রাজধানী ঢাকায় ১৯ জুলাই অনুষ্ঠিত হলো এক ঐতিহাসিক মহাসমাবেশ। প্রায় অর্ধমিলিয়নেরও বেশি নেতাকর্মী ও সমর্থক এ সমাবেশে অংশ নেন বলে দলীয় সূত্রে দাবি করা হয়।
সমাবেশটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ঐতিহাসিক সোহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যানে। এতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন দলের আমীর ডা. শফিকুর রহমানসহ শীর্ষ নেতৃবৃন্দ। সম্মেলনে নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ, জনগণের অধিকার, সংবিধান অনুযায়ী ইসলামী মূল্যবোধ প্রতিষ্ঠার আহ্বান জানানো হয়।
সমাবেশে ৭ দফা দাবিনামা উত্থাপন করে দলটি, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে অবাধ ও সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন, ইসলামপন্থী রাজনৈতিক দলগুলোর গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার নিশ্চিতকরণ, এবং রাজনৈতিক হয়রানি বন্ধ করা।

এটি ১৯৭০ সালের পর প্রথমবারের মতো রাজধানীতে এত বড় পরিসরে জামায়াতের প্রকাশ্য সমাবেশ।
